John William Hott, son of Abraham and Mary Ann (Swier) Hott was born 11 Nov. 1854 In Grafton, VA, and died 3 Nov. 1932 in Mt. Olla, Ohio. Married Arvilla Garberson on 29 Jan 1879, Kewanna, IN. She was born 28 Feb. 1858 in Ohio, and died 13 Sep 1930 East Jordan, MI; daugh. of Isaac and Emmaline (Lee) Garberson. They moved to East Jordan, MI, in early 1900's. John and his brothers James and Charles were the first settlers to move to Michigan in covered wagons. Children were all born in Kewanna, Indiana, except Lucille, who was born in MI. Children: 1. Ora Bell 1880; 2. Mary Luella 1882; 3. Maude Alice 1885; 4. Leroy 1887; 5. Ray William 1889; 6. Sarah Margaret 1892; 7. Nelliw Artell 1894; 8. Lucille 1904; 9. Lelia Jane 1897; and 10.
