Children of the Rev. Jacob Fries Hott and Jane Streit. Both are buried at Pleasant Valley Church. #1JW is James William Hott (I have an entire book photocopied on him called "The Life and Career of James William Hott, D.D., LL.D., Late Bishop of the United Brethren in Christ, by Marion R. Drury, D.D., pub. 1902 United Brethren Publishing House, Dayton, Ohio.) ( b. 1844, d. 1902) James married 1) Martha Ramey and 2)Marie Shank. The biography also contains a lot of pictures. I borrowed the book from "Pop" Richard and Bessie Renner who owned the old Hott homestead in White Hall, Virginia. There are also Hotts buried in the Old Stone Church adjoining his property, and you can check for that online site too. #2 JE is the Rev. John Elkana Hott (1846-1919) married 1) Mary Ellen Smoke and 2) Nettie Overholtz. #4 CM is the Rev. Charles Martin Hott (1851-1890) m. Abbelon C. Eyler. Other siblings are 3. Ella Frances Hott, 5. the Rev. George Peter Hott, 6. Jacob Swier Winton Hott, 7. Sarah Elizabeth Hott, 8. Isabella Susannah Hott, 9. David Glossbrenner Otterbein Hott [d. at 17 yrs., 7 mo., 10 days]. I have a United Brethren clergy photograph with photos of the 3 men and a lot of other pastors from their church. In fact I contributed their pictures to Mary Catherine Kuykendall's George Hott book. I have also posted pictures of the George Hott Cemetery online, and also if you hunt around on this site, the Pleasant Valley Church in White Hall, Virginia, I'm sure that you will find some of their tombstones in Frederick County, Virginia, in these cemetery pictures. Anyone looking for old George Hott (my original ancestor), his tombstone is on this site. Check out the cemetery. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/va/vastones/frederick/ghottsr/ghottsr.htm You can also find a lot of Hott records in www.familysearch.com in the Search button and in the Ancestral File and the Pedigree Resource File. John Hamblin and Mary Catherine Kuykendall and Wilmer Kerns (Shanholtzer book) all have written books on this Hott Family from Virginia and West Virginia, starting out in Lancaster, PA.
