From the June 1880 census, Berlin Township, Holmes County, OH:
"Peter Hott, age 78, retired farmer, born in VA
Nancy Hott, age 68, wife, born in PA
Editha Hott, age 34, daughter, born in OH
Ross M. Hott, age 18, nephew, born in OH"
Ross M. (my G-grandfather) was the illegitimate grandson
of George Hott (1806- ??) via his daughter, Mary Jane Hott
(1842- ??).
George and his older brother, the above Peter, were sons of Adam J. Hott.
My mother always believed that Ross was the son of Peter and Nancy...the facts of his birth didn't
come to light until I started my "roots" search!
I hope this is "your" Peter!
