My great great uncle Andrew Jackson Hosmer was a Captain in the 44th Illinois Volunteers. He participated in the Battle of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, March 6-7, 1862, the siege of Corinth, Mississippi, May 29-30 and was killed at the Battle of Stones River, December 30, 1863 to January 2, 1864.
If you desire documentary evidence I am able to furnish sources.

Howard Hosmer
