Horsnell Family Genealogy Forum

Hi Glyn
Would love to get my hands on that family tree if possible! Unfortunately I haven't got much more information than what I put in the first message - the only other thing I have is the information I recently garnered from the 1901 census, and it did have a couple anomalies, which maybe you could help with.
James Horsnell was living with his family at 3 Hartville Rd, Plumstead. It says he's 67 years, working as a labourer at the Royal Arsenal (it says this on his daughter's birth certificate as well) and deaf. However it states that his birthplace is Bexley Heath in Kent, not Hatfield Broad Oak in Essex like it says on the 1881 census. Also, James wife is someone called Mary, 63 years old and born in Bedfordshire. Which is definately not the wife of James listed in 1881 census - Elizabeth, 62 years old (which would make her birthyear abt 1819,a much older woman unless it was a typo) and born in Bexley Heath, Kent. So that's a little weird, but I know this is the right family as I have a letter sent by James to his daughter Hannah in Australia and his return address is 3 Hartville Rd Plumstead. Anyway - here's an extra clue given in the 1901 census - James' grandson was staying with them that night, his name is Arthur Rogers, 15 yrs old, working as a bricklayer's labourer and born in Plumstead, Kent - can you place him at all?
Chani :)
