Rev. James Horrocks of Lancashire, UK circa 1600
I am trying to find some information on Rev. James Horrocks of Lancashire, England who died around 1610-1612.

Thomas ASPINWALL of Toxeth Park, Lancaster, England left his will with a catalogue of assets dated Jun. 28, 1624. The will was proved Dec. 22, 1624. Thomas names his wife Mary, his children as listed below, sister Elizabeth AMBROSE, William AMBROSE, 'Elizabeth wife of Peter ASPINWALL', and Ellen, sister of James HORROCKS. A number of other debtors and creditors are also named. Executors are to be 'cousin Jirehjah ASPINWALL' and brother-in-law James HORROCKS.
Witnesses are Richard MATHER and Edward ASPINWALL. It is of interest that Rev. Richard MATHER, minister at Dorchester, MA, father of Rev. Increase, and grandfather of Rev. Cotton MATHER, received schooling under Mr. William HORROCKS, and was then a schoolmaster himself at Toxeth Park in 1614. While teaching, Richard resided in the home of Edward ASPINWALL.
Also, Rev. John COTTON, whose second wife and widow Sarah (HAWRIDGE) STORY married Rev. Richard MATHER, married first Jul. 3, 1613 Elizabeth HORROCKS, widow of Rev. James HORROCKS.
It is highly possible that the James HORROCKS mentioned above, and Rev. James HORROCKS were near relatives.
Children of Thomas and Mary Aspinwall
1.Peter - b. 1612, England; d. Dec. 1, 1687, Woodstock, CT.
2.Elizabeth - Married Mr. HORROCKS.
3.Thomas -
4.Samuel - Married Jane. Both Samuel and Jane left wills which contain bequeaths to
'non-conforming ministers' and 'poor widowes of non-conforming Ministers.'
Children: Isaac; Hannah possibly married William BIRCHALL; Timothy; Esther
married John ELLISON; Josiah; and Margaret married Graner SHIRGLEY.
Grandson mentioned: Edward FAZACKERLY.

The above makes reference to Elizabeth Horrocks who was the first wife of my 7th ggf, Rev. John Cotton.
I am trying to find out more about the Horrocks family and, in particular, the Rev. James Horrocks whose widow, Elizabeth Horrocks, married Rev. John Cotton and how and if, Rev. James Horrocks was related to the William Horrocks and James Horrocks of Toxeth Park, Lancashire.
