Subject: Ollie Hornsby
Does anyone know for sure who Ollie Hornsby's mother was? Some researchers say Martha Lunsford Hornsby and some say Elizabeth Robinson.
Martha Lunsford (daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth Cottrell Lunsford) and Job were married in 1868. They had several children. Martha died 5 Jul 1888 in Clay Co. and is buried in Brown Mission Cem. There are two graves by Job L. Hornsby, but the writing is unable to be read; (according to Find a Grave) this could be the grave of Martha. Ollie Hornsby's grave is there, under the name of Ollie Hornsby Thompson. Her birthdate is 12 Mar 1886 and she died 25 Aug 1981 in Hamilton Co. OH. The death index there lists her age as 95, which would make her born in 1886.
After Martha's death, Job married Elizabeth (Bettie) Robinson in Mar 1889. It seems unlikely that Elizabeth could be Ollie's mother, if she was really born in 1886, while Martha was still living.
Ollie's ages are not consistent on her census records, so they are not much help.
If anyone can help me to determine who Ollie's real mother was, I would really appreciate it!
