Not sure where the CROOM name comes from, only that others in the Culpepper family (in-laws to Eli via Dorcus Drucilla, his sister) have that same middle name. Mary Stanley Horne and her husband Arthur Bryant Horne traveled from Pulaski County, GA to Dooley County, GA were at least my GGGrandmother, Dorcus Drucilla (Horne) Culpepper was born. That was in 1841. Arthur Bryant was born in Pulaski County in 1810. Hope some of this helps.
