James Horne
HORNE James Wesley 1919 2008 Wes passed away early Sunday morning at Lions Gate Hospital in his 89th year. His generous spirit and positive outlook on life made him a great example to his family and friends, who will greatly miss him. Born in Parry Sound, Ontario, the family moved to North Vancouver when Wes was three. After attending Queen Mary School and North Van High, he started his working career at Horne Brothers Shingle Mill. Following this, he worked until he retired for the Red Cedar Shingle and Shake Bureau. In his spare time he enjoyed teaching the Dale Carnegie course. Wes was predeceased by his daughter Joy, and his siblings: Curtis, Ruby and Alice. He is survived by his wife (of more than 66 years) Peggy, his son Ken, daughter Lee and daughter in-law Debby, grandchildren Michele, Tim, and Janet, and great-grandaughter Kaliyana, sisters Mary and Irene (Allan), sisters-in-law Ethel, Nan and Sheila, many nieces and nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26th, 2008 at St. Andrews United Church on 10th and St. Georges, North Van. In lieu of flowers a contribution to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Many thanks to the staff at Lions Gate Emergency Response Team.
