Victor, I am descended from Thomas McGowan Hastings and Catherine Horne and was happy to find your post. I have been unable to find Thomas and Catherine on the 1850 census records. Do you have any idea where they were in that year? I assumed they were in Henry County, TN. I've been blocked on the Hornes for some time, but hope that this will open up some avenues. I'll share anything I find. Thanks for any info you may have.
