Hi - William Horne of Worthington Leicestershire (he became a Brickmaker) married a Hannah Mellor first 13 Nov. 1821 at Church Gresley. Both he and Hannah were living at Swadlincote at the time. They had five surviving children: William born c. 1820 (not unusual) who became a collier; George, born c. 1826, also became a collier; Sarah, born c. 1828; Joseph, born c. 1832, also became a collier; and Elizabeth, baptized 22 Feb 1835 at St John's Newhall (close to Swadlincote). Hannah was buried 17 May 1838, just about a month after the burial of her and William's newborn son, James (buried 7 April 1838). William then married Elizabeth Watkins Jul-Sept qtr. 1841 Burton-on-Trent (Newhall, Swadlincote and so on were all in the Burton-on-Trent registration District). Elizabeth Watkins came from Winshill - a township of Burton-on-Trent and but a couple of miles from Newhall. By 1851 the family has moved to Darlaston Staffs, where Elizabeth Horne (the daughter of Hannah and William) met and married William Harper 16 July 1855. She died shortly after giving birth to her and William's daughter Hannah, born 22 June 1857.
