Seeking information on Cornelius Horne, born abt. 1820 and died aft.1896. Cornelius lived in Edgefield County, SC and married Lucinda Unknown. She was born 1814, died Feb 29, 1896. They had one son William F. Horne b.June 14, 1841, d.July 16, 1885. Cornelius and his son William both enlisted in Co.”K”, 14th South Carolina Volunteers, and then Lucinda also volunteered and went to the front with them. All three are buried at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Newberry County, and an elaborate marker reads “LUCINDA HORNE, Confederate Heroine Nurse, Co.K 14th REG.SC”. There are also markers for her husband Cornelius, their son William F. Horne, and his daughter Willie E. Horne. Would like more info on any of the above persons.
