Hi,
I haven't got links for your family but I can help with the name etc....

There are a few different theories on where the name has originated from but these are the main 2. Firstly, 'Horn' has derived from 'Orme' which in Norse means Serpent and 'By' means settlement/farm. The other is that it has derived from a Viking leader named Horni giving you 'Horni's Farm'. Which ever way you look at it the name Hornby is Scandinavian in origin. The coat of arms is black with a gold chevron with 2 horns on the top and 1 on the bottom. Has anyone else got any information on the name or coat of arms?

thanks
Daniel Hornby
