I believe there are at least 2 sets of Hornbys in the Horwich area in the mid C19th."My" lot are James and Grace nee Richardson who have Mary, John, Ann, Fanny, James and Maria between 1821 and 1831. James' roots are in Heaton, Deane where he has his children baptised though he is a bleacher living in Horwich. I can send you an Excel file about Hornbys if you like.
A gentleman advertised an interest in Hornby in the M&LFHS journal last year and he turned out to be descended from the other Hornbys in Horwich who may be your line. I do not know where the James who is linked to Noah originated.
