Source: KY Genealogy:
Horn - Mathias Horn enlisted for service int he Rev War, in 1776, while living on Holston River in VA; he went to Ft Boonesborough, in April 1778; served under command of Capt Benjamin Logan & continued as a soldier until the close of the war. (According to his statement made in applying for a pension while residing in Estill Co, KY, July 17, 1832). Rev Samuel Kelly & Joseph Proctor of Estill Co made depositions in support of Horn's application for a pension (W10-110, VA). Mathias Horn died Jan 30, 1834. His widow, Susanna, made application for a widow's pension June 4, 1839, stated she married Mathias Horn in Fayette Co, KY, summer of 1782. Supporting deposition of Joseph Proctor, age 84, stated that he was acquainted with Horn in 1776 to the time of his death; that he married Mathias' sister in 1777; in 1782 was living near Boone's station; that he lived with Horn's father & enlisted with him (Mathias or the father of Mathias, Aaron?...DCFM). Deposition of Polly Proctor, of Estill Co, stated she was a brother-in-law to Horn (brother-in-law or brother? I think it should be brother, since this is Joseph's wife, Polly Horn Proctor...DCFM), who married Susan Hall in 1782. Susanna Horn was pensioned March 4, 1836.

You can see how erroneous statements or transcribed errors in this case) can cause confusion for future generations. This Polly Proctor was Mathias' sister.
