Knox County, KY Horns
Posted by: Jerry Horn (ID *****6524) Date: July 19, 2007 at 10:46:07

My grandfather was Carlon Horn, one of three male children born to Isaac Horn in Knox County,KY in mid 1880's, early 1890's. My notes from reviewing the acutal records in Knox County Clerk's Office further reflect that Isaac was born in Knox County in 1866 and that he was the son of Thomas (or John Thomas) Horn, who was born in Knox County in 1820, who, in turn was one of three sons (others being Isaac Stewart and Abraham) born to Christopher Horn (and Elizabeth). The Knox County records reflect that Christopher was born on 18 Dec.1752 in VA and died 19 Mar 1837 in Knox County, KY.

I would appreciate assistance and input on the following:

1) any confirmation or discrepencies of the above;

2) any biographical information about any of the individuals mentioned--above the line of my grandfather, Carlon, although including his brothers, Tom and Anthony;

3) I have read of the "dispute" of the portion of Ralph Barnes history stating that "there was another Christopher Horn that lived in Knox County but his ancestors were English and he was not related to the Estill County Horns". I find the explanation of Dave Parman, disputing this ("Christopher Horn (1752-1937), Disowned for Two Centuries") to be fairly persuasive; and

4) any information regarding Christopher Horn (b. 1752) and his ancestors in addition to the execellent presentation by Mr. Barnes.

I reside in Lexington, KY.
