Hi,
I appreciate your response and information conerning Nathan Horn. I am familiar with Nathan Horn in Bibb County Alabama, and I know that he owned slaves. Perry Horn Jr was interviewed in the Neshoba County Mississippi Democrat newspaper in approximately 1940, and stated he was born in Eutaw Alabama. My great uncle told my father that Perry Horn Jr did Mention Bibb County Alabama quite a bit, but we don't know why. I was assuming (from the newspaper article) that he, his father, and mother were slaves from Greene County Alabama because that is where Eutaw is located. Perry Horn Jr couldn't read or write, and was approximately 106 years old at the time of the newspaper interview. It might be possible that he didn't know exactly know what county he was born. In Greene County, in the 1850s and 1860s, there were two Horn brothers (J.H. and L.W.)that owned slaves. In Bibb County there was only Nathan Horn who owned slaves in the 1850s and 1860s. Perry Horn Jr's parents were both born in approximately 1820, and were probably owned and/or purchased by one of these Horns. If you come across any other information please let know, and again thanks for your response.
