I totally agree with your thoughts on finding parents for adoptees. Being married to an adoptee we have had many times where medical background was very important to have but we didn't. With all the cancers and inherited diseases it is vital that adult adoptees find their biological parents and get this information. Also, back when unwed pregnancies were viewed as a disgrace many young women were not given any choice but forced to put the child up for adoption. Had it been in today's day and age many would have kept their children. These woman miss their children terribly that were adopted out and have lived with the anguish for years. So many states deny the adoptees or the birth parents access to information on each other. We're all adults now why keep it from them. People who are not adopted have NO clue on how hard it is for an adopted child to go through life with NO records, NO medical information or no lineage information. Everyone has a right to their biological information.
