Henry Algernon Horn,Eng. to Us, changed name
After many years of searching, someone helped me find my Henry Horn, b. 1843, in London, Shoreditch. He came to the US in about 1870, and we find him in New Orleans in 1880 listed as Henry Algernon (his middle name). At some point, he changed his name, apparently. He is there with wife Isabella and daughters, Annie (Ruff) and Mary (Mary Caroline Cox)--my grandmother.Henry had a brother, Charles Horn, who also came over to the US.Did he also change his name to Algernon?I saw that there was a man by that name in the LA marriage records. If someone could find that for me, I'd be grateful. When Henry was found in England, I also found his siblings who were GEorge Frederick, Caroline Zelia Stokes Ford Horn, Charles James.
His parents were Henry Horn (barrister) and Caroline Ford. His parents were John Robert Horn and Martha Stokes.I've only been hunting for this information all my adult life, so rejoice with me!
