Horn(e)'s from Broadway Worcestershire
Francis and Elizabeth were my great great grandparents. If anyone can provide any further information on them, I'd love to hear from you! The only details I have at present are as follows.
Francis Horne (recorded as Horn in some documents) married Elizabeth Griffin in June 1874. They lived in the village of Broadway in Worcestershire (England), and it is believed they had five children (David Francis, Fanny, John, William and Percy). Francis was an Agricultural Labourer who worked the land by Broadway Tower. He was also the Squires right hand man!
Francis' parents were William Horn(e) and Ann Horn(e) (maiden name unknown). They appear to have had 3 other children (2 boys and a girl) as well as Francis, their names were Charles Horn(e), Ann Horn(e) and David Horn(e). No details are held on any of the above except that the children were all apparently christened on the same date (29/1/1854) in Broadway, Worcestershire (England).
Francis Horn(e) died before the marriage of his son David Francis Horne (my great grandfather), which occured in 1901, it is believed therefore he would therefore have been under the age of 50 at the time of his death. I have no records on where he was born, died or is buried.
If anyone can shed any further light on any of the above individuals, please contact me! (Isn't it interesting how names were so commonly reused within families at this time!)
