All I know is that "oral tradition" (especially from Mollie Godat Bellamy, whose mother was a Horine) holds that our ancestors were Huguenots and moved across the Rhine into Germany a generation before the birth of Frederick. Mrs. Bellamy also maintained that Frederick fought in the army of Frederick The Great of Prussia.
