Horgans in Cty. Cork
Have just returned from Ireland--guess what??
HORGAN is a pretty common name in County Cork. Found Horgan Brothers were photographers in YOUGHAL and a calendar of their photos is published every year.( I bought 5 copies) They also owned a cinema. A Horgan relative also raised champion race horses and another branch of the family was known for Butchering---they were butchers.I have the phone # to obtain birth record in Cork City and the Horgan brothers calendar or pictures (quite good)--if anyone is interested--i will pass it on. Also learned that the Geraldines were a family --or tribe--and the name was passed on from the original tribe as a family name--thus all the Geralds and Geraldines really have a sur name as a first name. they were very powerful and there is a Geraldine center in TRALEE---that was closed because of the hoof and mouth. e-you Horgans later--still jet lagged!
