Martin Horan appears in the same house with the Lalley family of New Brunswick, NJ, on the 1860 census (handwritten p.346, dwelling 2169). One branch of the Lalleys lived at 66 Richardson Street. There were two Martin Lalleys who could have been the godfather of your ancestor.

My great-grandfather Thomas Lally was a cousin of this branch of the family, who adopted the "Lalley" spelling when they immigrated to New Jersey around 1850. Thomas Lally was born in Manulla, Co. Mayo, and I believe the Lalleys were from there or neighboring Balla, Co. Mayo.
I have seen the name "Horan" in Mayo records.

I am trying to gather more info about the Lalleys and contact any living relatives. Please contact me at and perhaps we can help each other.
