Kathleen,
We have had a couple of Lockwoods who married into the family from New Jersey. The one closest to you would have been Alice Lockwood, who married Jacob Seaman Hopping, probably in about 1885 in Hanover Park. They had four children, Henry William Hopping, Herbert Lockwood Hopping, Frances Hopping and Raymond Hopping. Also, in Auburn New York, Frances Almira Lockwood married Edward Nelson Hopping in 1882(it's possible there is a connection to the New Jersey Lockwoods, but I'm not certain), so there you have it.. regards Spencer Hopping
