from the Danville, Illinois Commercial News Wed Apr 2007 Martin Lee “Marty” Hopper, 49, of Covington, Ind., died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, April 8, 2007, at home. He was born Sept. 10, 1957, in Danville, the son of Vernon E. and Shirley (McLain) Hopper. Marty was a life resident of Covington and was a member of the Catfish Club of America and a former member of the Moose Lodge. He was employed at Olin, Flexel and MasterGuard. Surviving are: his father and step-mother, Vernon E. and June Hopper, and his mother, Shirley Meeker, all of Covington; two sons, Martin Lee (Tiffany) Hopper Jr. of Danville and Bradley Hopper of Covington; a sister, Christy (Michael) Cruse of Bloomingdale; a half-brother, Clyde Hopper; a stepbrother, James Breeden, and special friend, Eryn Massey and an adopted son, Anthony, all of Covington; several nieces and nephews and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jamie Morris, and stepfather, James Meeker. Friends will be received 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. EDT Thursday, April 12, 2007, at the Shelby Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. EDT Thursday with Paul Kent officiating. Interment will follow at the Coal Creek Cemetery, Covington. Contributions may be made to the Martin Hopper Trust at the Fountain Trust Company with envelopes available at the funeral home. Notify Administrator about this message?
