I would still like to hear from anyone who is researching the surname HOPLA, HOPLAH, Hoplar.

The first known Hopla I have located was:-
Stephen HOPLA. born 1762 at Grove, Pembroke; baptised in 1763 at possibly St Michaels CoE, Pembroke. Stephen died December 1822 and was buried 28th December 1822 at St. Michaels, Pembroke.
Stephen married ELIZABETH COSCAR, 30th Nov 1786 at St. Nicholas, Monkton, PEMBROKE.
They had the following children:
(i) JOHN STEPHEN HOPLA. (b) 13 Aug 1789 at Grove, Pembroke.
(ii) JAMES HOPLA. (b) c1791, Grove, Pembroke.
(iii) THOMAS HOPLA. (b) 1792, Grove, Pembroke.
(iv) MARY HOPLA. (b) c1797.
(v) GEORGE HOPLA. (b) 1799, Grove, Pembroke.
(vi) JAMES HOPLA. (b) 1800.
(vii) WILLIAM HOPLA. (b) 1803, Grove, Pembroke.
(viii) STEPHEN HOPLA. (b) 1814, Grove, Pembroke.
