Brent,
We had a GGGgrandmother Nancy Jane Hooten born 1837 in Madison County, Kentucky she married Benjamin Harmon in Boone county, Missouri and GGgrandmother Mary Elizabeth Hooten born 1840 in Kentucky she married a Newton sometime around 1855 she had a daughter born in 1855 in Missouri and a son born in 1857 in Missouri both we think were Newtons we don't know where she married the Newton. Then on Oct.21,1857 Mary Elizabeth Hooten married Daniel Randall in Nodaway County, Missouri.
Nancy Jane HOOTEN Harmon and Mary Elizabeth HOOTEN Newton Randall were sisters. The 1880 Census in Nodaway Co., Missouri their mother Sarah Marley was living with Mary Elizabeth and Daniel Rendal and in 1858 Nancy Jane wrote her mother a letter in Ray Co.,Missouri. A gggrandson of Nancy Jane's has the letter that she wrote to her mother Sarah and it is the same person that was stated on the census as Daniel Rendal's mother inlaw.
Nancy Jane Hooten’s daughter was Sarah Price Harmon she married William Franklin Ramsdell on her funeral recorders it says her mother was born in Madison County, Kentucky. We are sure they are connected to Thomas Hooten that lived in Madison County, Kentucky.
Does anyone have any idea what Sarah maiden name was and what the first name of Nancy and Mary's father was. Any or all information on this family would be appreciated. Mary Elizabeth's death cert. said her father was Mr. Houten. No first name. Nancy Jane always spelled her last name Hooten and Mary Elizabeth spelled it Houten, Hooston, and Hutton.
