Yes, the John Hooker who left the will in Tyrrell Co., NC, in 1790 was the same John Hooker who was Sheriff of Tyrrell County. He m. first-Elizabeth Mary Swain. I believe his second wife was Ann Alexander and his third wife was Ann Craddock.
The John Hooker, Sr., of the 1786 Mill Tail/Tyrrell Co., NC census was Sheriff John Hooker.
