HOOK (Hoek) Kalamazoo, MI
My great-uncle Joseph Hook d. 1990 was related to me by marriage to my great-aunt Rosie d. 1988.
His father's name has several different spellings on records, Garret, Garrett, etc., Mother Sophie or Sophia (LEPOLD) HOEK born in Germany, last name was changed to HOOK in the States. Lived in Kansas before relocating permanently to Kalamazoo.
Uncle Joe has one living descendant, his only child Timothy Hook of Kalamazoo, married to Linda. They never had any kids.
Joe's siblings were John, Albert, Sophia, Helen Lena and Anna.
Sophia married Lawrence NOOK in 1915. John married Gertrude Peters in 1913. Anna married Fred Schwarze in about 1906. They had a child, Ferdinand. Helen married Ernest H. Agnew in 1910.
No records of any children except for Timothy and Ferdinand. Ernest also married an ANNA CONLON in 1906, so I'm wondering if perhaps Anna died or maybe that first marriage was annulled. All other documents point to Joseph's sister Helen as the spouse.
Looking for descendants of the siblings. I don't know what happened to Ferdinand Schwarze. Maybe the Schwarzes went back to Germany.
