Dear Katharine,

I had the name of John Hook's father from the 1838 shipping records which stated he was named Joseph Hook, a gardener. In 1996 I paid for a researcher to look in Kent and she believed his parents were Joseph & Ann. She found 2 other baptisms for possible siblings of John born in Cranbrook, Ann baptised 1805 and Richard in 1814.
