OBITUARY: The Morning Press, Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, Thursday, August 7, 1975 Keith W. Hook Sr., 68, of 208 Iron St., Berwick, died at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he had been a patient since July 19. He had been in ill health for the past several years. He was born in Shickshinny, June 7, 1907, son of the late Frank and Bertha Miller Hook. He resided in that community until moving to Berwick 16 years ago. Mr. Hook was married to the former Dorothy Cole and his death breaks a marital span of 24 years. He was employed by ACF Industries Inc., Berwick, for over 20 years before retiring in 1961. In his earlier years, he was well known as a professional ballplayer, playing with several minor league baseball teams. Surviving in addition to his widow are five sons, including Keith W. Hook Jr., Charles, both of Berwick; Richard and Kenneth, both of East Rochester, N.Y.; William Hook, Jonestown; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Verda) Buckalew, of Philadelphia; 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving is a brother, George Hook of Berwick and four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Dodson, of New Jersey; Mrs. Cornelius Rinehimer and Mrs. John (Florence) McGraw, both of Shickshinny; Mrs. John (Marguerite) Lukaszewski, of New Holland, Pa. Funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11 from the G. Richard Mayo Funeral Home, Berwick, with the Rev. Warren M. Birdsall, pastor of Shickshinny Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut St., Berwick. Notify Administrator about this message?
