Not to confuse matters even more, but I am also interested in the true facts behond Rice Hooe.My questions arose from the following secondary source: A Genealogical and Historical Account of the Throckmorton and Allied Families, 1066-1926, C. Wickliffe Throckmorton, 1930, Old Dominion Press, Richmond, Virginia, Page 347.
In his "Excursus Hooe" he cites the following:
Rice Hooe, b: Ca 1600 emigrated to the Virginia in 1635, recieved land patent for 1200 acres in Charles City County in 1636, Burgess from Charles City County in 1644-1645, and 1647.His son:
Colonel Rice Hooe married Catherine Taliaferro, daughter of Richard Taliaferro. She d: Nov 8, 1731, He d: Apr 26, 1726.Burgess from Stafford County 1700-1703, Captain Stafford County Militia 1700, Lt Col 1703.(The source of this data was from the Va. Mag. of History and Biog. Vol 4, Page 427, and the court records of Stafford County.)His son:
Rice Hooe
and so on.
I have seen people post multiple/conflicting info on the senior Rice. Some say he was born in England, some Whales, some say he was married to Sarah Goodwin, others to Jane Seymour.
Perhaps he married twice? Or perhaps there are two Rice Hooes.
It will be interesting to see what comes of all this, if anything.
