Hi,
George William HOOD was b. Nov 1858 in Virginia, most likely Sussex Co. His parents were Charles Moore Hood and Cornelia COX. He was in Sussex Court House, Sussex Co., VA for the 1860 and 1870 censuses. In 1870 his brother John Thomas and sister Frances E Hood are also shown. I believe C Moore and Cornelia had died by 1880, as the children are split up at the residences of their aunts and uncles - George ("William") and John ("Thomas") are nephews living with W. L. and Lucy A. D. Hood, and Frances ("Fannie") is niece living with Martha A. Hood - all still in Sussex Co.
In 1886 George William married Addie F. THOMAS. At some point between 1880 and 1900 he moved to Texas, where he is found in 1900 in Upshur with wife Addie, sons Mark (Marcus Moore Hood) and Howard (Henry Howard Hood). He was in Gilmer, Upshur in 1910 and 1920 but had moved to Dallas by 1930, where he died 15 Dec 1938.
Looking for any information about this family. I have some descendants from Marcus Moore Hood to share. Also looking for ancestry on Charles Moore Hood. I believe his mother was Phoebe L Moore but do not have anything on his father. Feel free to respond by post or email.
