In addition to the 1920 census the elder Elmer is listed as a widower in the 1930 census with sons Elmer and Leroy. Dorothy and Katherine are living with her Uncle John and Aunt Elizabeth. Robert, Ellen (Helen?), Thelma plus Elizabeth and Edward are listed as boarders living with Myrtha Confer in Mt. Oliver. Oddly it shows the children as born in West Virginia, but perhaps it is not odd, read on. Of course this may not be the same family. Finding Elmer Sr before 1920 seems to be a challenge. it could be he used a different first name.

I suggest trying to get Zona and Elmer's death certificates and obituaries. They should have the parents' names and with the latter the siblings names.
