Archibald Lytle took parole after the capture of Charleston SC on 12 May 1780, and he
did not return to service until 30 Sep 1783.
In the 1820 federal census for Jennings County IN William Hood is enumerated as head of a household of “Free Colored Persons.” On 12 July 1855 Catharine Hood, about 70 years old, applied for a pension stating that
she was the widow of William Hood who died about 1830. On 10 Apr 1855 she gave her age as 68 when applying for bounty land, and she stated that her name was Catharine Francis when she was married to William Hood in Jefferson County IN by a Rev. Vawter. In the file is a
document stating that William Hood and Kitty Depliens[?] were married in Jefferson County IN on 9 Aug 1812 by Jesse Vawter.
