Rick,

Sorry that I forgot to answer your question. I didn't mean to ignore it. I don't have my line very far back due to inability so far to find documentation. I have documentation only back as far as Waitman Hood born 1804 in Virginia whose son, Francis, was born in 1835 in Ohio. Francis said his family came through PA to get to Ohio. Oral history has Waitman's father as Robert Hood and Robert's father as William Hood. There IS a Robert living very close to Waitman who moves when Waitman does but, as we both know, that might be coincidental. A second coincidence would be that Waitman named a son Robert and Francis named one of his sons Robert William Hood. Again, could be sheer coincidence. On the only census record Robert appears on that he answers the question of place of birth Robert says he is from Virginia. The following census on which Robert is in his 70s his daughter gives his place of birth as Ireland. Forgot to mention that Robert was born 1772. Sure do hope a Meigs and Darke County Hood will come forward to be tested.

Pam
