Does anyone have any info re the marriage of James Hood and Mary Ellison which took place in Ohio (probably Adams County) about 1825? Per the Mormon site Mary Ellison Hood died in 1838. As my ancestor James R. Hood married Eliza Norwood in nearby Fleming County, KY in 1939 it is at least possible that these could be the same James Hoods. Further James R Hood was born "near Chillicothe" which corresponds well to West Union, Adams County, Ohio. Apparently there were three children from the Hood/Ellison marriage which I cant account for, but perhaps a family tragedy could account for this. James R. Hood was 32 yrs old when he married Eliza Norwood which seems a tad old for a first marriage during that time frame. Any thoughts?And the search goes on.
