The elder James was in Fleming County as early as 1805 as he and wife Elizabeth sold land there that year. I do not know for certain if he is the James Hood shown in the 1820 Fleming census. figures fit if he WAS father of James R, but James R was born "outside Chillecothe" in 1807. Also dont know who the older woman in the household could have been, probably not Elizabeth's mother as she married George Stockton after death of both their spouses (about 1810). This is my roadblock! I have pages from the elder James Hood's bible if you are interested. Im most interested in anything you might have. Please email me at ron@bcinet.net.
