My James Wesley Hood arrived in Roane County around 1840. At least that is the first record, land that I have found. He married Ann Morrison Bailey, daughter of Col. William Bailey in 1841. Have that record. He shows up in each census after 1841. James died in 1890. His birth date and death date are on his grave stone. That is all I have. I have his children etc on down to present, but can't seem to zero in on his history. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know there are other Hoods in the area. I have often wondered about them. ei: John Hood and Elizabeth Sexton. But can't find documentation on anyone.
