Harriet Newell Hood was my gggrandmother through daughter Sarah Emerson Todd.
What was passed to me was that Harriet's father was John Hood, b. 1808 (place unknown) d. 1849 in Weakley Co. Her mother was Sarah Farmer b. 1815 in KY.
Children I know of were:
Jane b 1832
John W(ashington?) b. 1835
David F. b 1838
Andy b 1844
Harriet b. 1848
I haven't been able to find anything further back yet.
