Henry A. Honeycutt 1866 (Tenn?)
I am looking for information about Henry A. Honeycutt, my great-grandfather, and any of his people. The family Bible shows that he was born May 2, 1866, but does not record where. He married Mollie E.(aka Mary Ellen) Suttle on April 24, 1892.Molly's birthdate is recorded as June 9, 1875.Their marriage certificate has them both as being from Summer or Sumner Co., but does not say which state.Theirchildren(thosesurviving infancy) were: Bonnie Lenard, born Aug 16, 1893 (my grandfather); Lesley Gilbert, born June 6, 1904; Sarah Elizabeth, born Oct. 12, 1909; and Willie, born Aug. 3, 1912.
Their oldest son Bonnie Lenard Honeycutt married Flora Rachel Cook (my grandmother) in 1921 when he was 28 years old and she was just 16.I remember we took him to visit his brother Lesley in Portland a few times, and I remember visiting his brother Willie and his wife in Knoxville back in the 1970's. His sister Elizabeth married a Berkeley, who died tragically in a hunting accident; she then married a Ragan. She lived in Nashville and we saw her often during our frequent visits to my grandparents' home in West Nashville.
Bonnie and Rachel had 4 children: Kenneth Lavern, Ellen Evelyn, Nathan Larue, and Wanda Lou.I am not sure about the dates the others were born, but my mother, Wanda Lou, was born Dec. 6, 1932.She and Nathan are still living, but the other siblings are deceased.
I have always heard that my grandfather's people were from the Portland area of Tennessee. However, my mother was born in Nashville, in a house which has since been torn down.My grandparents lived in the Sylvan Park area of Nashville throughout my lifetime.I, too, was born in Nashville, but my family moved to Huntsville, AL when I was just a small child.I still have relatives in Davidson and Williamson Counties in TN, but wonder if there are others I do not know about.
I would very much appreciate any help!
Thanks, Nina
