I am so glad you posted a message. I have since found a bit more on John Hone but I am still stumped about his heritage but I think you and I have a match. John named his son Ernest W. and his daughter Mary Agnes, those could be after his siblings. I did find a possible brother to John in Philadelphia, Walter C. living in Phila

Walter was married to a woman named Sarah also b:engl july 1868 they had children named Mary b:1892 pa, Francis 1892pa,Helen 1896 pa, Agnes 1909 pa.

the profile fits exactly except that he emmigrated a few years before John Hone. This may be why you can't find any definate answers in England.
I cannot find John Hone or his family in the 1910 census. John Hone died in 1911 but I have no idea what happed to his wife, Jennie E. Friel, or when she died but it was before 1917 when their daughter Mary Agnes Hone married Hayes Rainier in Phila. I do have the marriage information for John Hone and Jennie Friel if you want it. I do not have any more information on Walter though. I have been waiting for confirmation on the family link first. I have also been trying to track down the lost Hone uncle and cousins in Phila for family reasons and to see if they would be willing to participate in the geneaology DNA project.
Here is some John Hone information.
