Hello, my great grandfather was Hans Olavson Hommy (it is common family knowledge he changed the spelling from Homme when he came to Canada) He was a proud Telemarken. He married Sidsel Slatte (from Fla, Hallingdal,Norway) in Minnesota (where the marriage certificate says Homme. They had nine children all born in Minnesota but all settled in the Peace River Country, in Alberta, Canada. I have more detailed information on Hans but of course I would have to go off the internet and look it up on my family tree maker. It is very possible that Hans mother was the Homme. I do have the info like which farm he was born on. Let me know if this rings any bells.
