Hello Anthony,

Thank you for replying to my request on Mark Tuite Sterling. I really do not have much info on him other than he was supposedly born in Scotland and was sent to India. He was probably born in the 1850's and married Louisa Margaret Home/Holm out in India. He had a daughter Ethel May Sterling who was born 24 th May 1879. Black Town, Tamil Nadu. This is probably where Grt grandfather Mark Tuite Sterling was stationed at as he was an army man. There were at least two other son's of which we know of but no longer can remember their names. I did come across another possible daughter on the IGI's for a Clara Adeline Sterling born the same place but the father is down as Mark Antony Tuite Sterling, this has to be one of the same person, too much of a coincidence. I am told by relatives who are no longer with us that a decendant of the family is Sir David Sterling who formed the SAS in the 1940's about. Whether this David comes from one of the two sons mentioned above or a siblings line of Mark's I do not know. Mark died 1919/20 Agra, India.
I would love to know who Mark's parent's and siblings were so I could get further with the family tree.
Hope you can help.
Regards
Christine.
