Brian, I also have an ancestor named Samuel HOME: born 10 May 1809, Shropshire, England who married an Ann EDWARDS born 23 Dec 1811, Llangonfolin, Wales. They raised a large family (12 children). Both Samuel and Ann are buried in Keota, Iowa.

Samuel's father was Thomas HOME and I know nothing of him except he was an admirer of "good horse flesh", until at a time when he was weakened by illness, he was tossed to his death from the back of a horse when his son Samuel was very young. In addition to Samuel, Thomas evidently had two other sons; Thomas and John.

Samuel and his three brothers immigrated to this country from Shropshire during the 1830's.

Would be wonderful to talk more with you!
Patty Hembree
