My parents are from the Toisan village. But, the mandarin spelling is Taishan. You can find it on a world atlas. It's located on the coast to the west of Hong Kong in the province of Guanghzou (spelling?) My mom says that it's now a city, not a village. It's a pretty good size, and they even have their own webpage www.taishan.com. The webpage has a link for families and can help you look up yours. Good luck. I hope this helps.
