Dear Alan
With Ref:- to the family of Holyoake i have direct line
with warickshire, worcesterhire since the English civil war
my grandfather Philip william had two wife's Agnus & Amelia
with diect line to australia side of the family and George
Jacob Holyoake was my G/G/G grandfather (b14/4/1817)the family
landed in the south east of UK about the 4th cent from
Germany after the Romans pulled out to fight in the Gaul Wars,
also the Holyoake family had for more than two centuries
possessed considerable landed property in the Co of Warick,
Morton Bagot,
John Holyoake purchased the Morton Bagot monor house in 1640
and Francis Holyoake educated at Oxford became rector of
southam in his native county and suffered greatly for is
loyalty in the Civil wars he died cira 1653 s by son Thomas
who has a line to the warick side of family.
the conclusion that i get from the family past is that we
are all the same family, from the family being in yorkshir,
Manchester, cumbria, Gloucestershire, north london, and southern counties, with conversation's between other members
of the Holyoake family this is most likly the fact.
i hope this is of interest and look forward to your reply
Thanks Dudley Grenville Holyoake
