Do you have the 1790 record handy? I would like to know the ages of the males and females in the homes of each of the Williams in Chester District of SC.

This line of one of the William Hollifields [sp] migrated with the Padgett families to Rutherford County, NC, and then William moved into Burke County, NC, which adjoins RT CT.

There were 3 Padgett brothers who married 3 Hollifield sisters, and they all lived in Rutherford County, NC, in the 1790's+ The women were named Celia/Cecelia, Minima [? nickname for Jemima], and Susannah Louranie. The first 2 died before the 1850 Census was taken, so their birth state was not listed; however, my ancestor Susannah Louranie, lived to be about 100 years old and her birth state was listed as North Carolina. Their brother was a Baptist minister/Elder named Jacob Hollifield who lived in Rutherford County, maybe the part that later became Cleveland County.

We have yet to PROVE their parents, but it seems evident that these women and man were closely related to the William Hollifield family from SC. They lived near each other, and they served as bondsmen for the Padgett weddings in later years.

We know the Padgett brothers came from VA>NC and were in Surry County/Rowan County before going to SC, and ending in Rutherford County, NC. This info is from one of the Padgett brothers who was a soldier/Baptist minister in the REV. WAR, and his pension record tells about the family moving into these locations. Valentine Hollifield lived in Surry County, NC, at the same time as the Padgetts were there.
