Dwayne:
I, too, am a descendant of the Holzclaws from Clay county, Missouri. I believe that there was a daughter named Mattie (some say Martha or Madeline) then she had a daughter named Opal Dixie with Ed Harlan, all there is Clay County. Some accounts say that Mattie and Ed were married, however, my grandma always told me that they were not. Opal married and in turn had my grandma Elsie. Mattie left Missouri while Opal was young, because Opal contracted Tuberculosis; then they moved to Colorado, as did two of the brothers of Mattie(Arch and Higby), and two of the sisters(Kate and May). Would Mattie have been a sister
to your family? or perhaps a generation back from that?
Thank You, Lanee
