Hi Ronald,
That is the information that I have but I haven't confirmed it myself yet. There is a James Pinion in the 1870 census with wife Nancy-but no children. I cannot find a James Pinion with wife Nancy in the 1880 or 1900. That could mean that Nancy died young and James remarried. I did not find a Robert Pinion listed with James.
